Our Range of Orthotics

What type of Orthotic for me? 3D Printed? Rigid? Soft?

Half Length 3D Printed, Rigid or Soft Orthotics

Half Length 3D Printed, Rigid or Soft Orthotics

Half-length orthotics are orthotics where the top cover stops at the end of the orthotic shell. The orthotic shell is the main part for most people that provide the support and so having the cover half-length will not make a difference to the orthotics support.

We have three materials which we use:

  • 3D Printed
  • Polypropylene Plastic
  • EVA Rubber
  • Half-length orthotics are generally for people with less room in the toe box of shoes and for ease of moving between shoes. Half-length orthotics have a variety of colors that can be chosen from.

Sporthotics

Orthotics for comfort walking or sport specific. Generally, sports ones will be made softer to prevent blistering, and support-modified dependent on the sport and footwear. To provide maximum comfort orthotic we use EVA Rubber with usually 2-3 layers of different densities.

At least one layer is softer to provide cushioning and another layer is firmer retain the supportive shape of your foot.

A full length orthotic will generally be made for a shoe with a full-length removable lining. This can mean extra padding can be added to the forefoot of the orthotics for extra comfort.

Specialised Football Boot Orthotics

Whether it be the ‘World Game’ or Australian Rules, football boots are far from the optimal pieces of footwear. The forces and impact may require the footballer to have more support or cushioning. Compared to a sneaker, the football is greatly compromised.

One other issue is the size, particularly the depth of the boot. In the past, orthotics have struggled to fit into football boot. At Adelaide Heel Pain Clinics our in-house orthotic milling machine has German-made carbon fibre plate as an undercarriage with a customised orthotic over the top to solve the issue of fitting it inside the football boot.

Specialised Cycling Orthotics

Our specialist cycling orthotics are made from a German-made carbon fibre undercarriage with a thin customised orthotic on top. They have a special operating principle that stabilises the foot, preventing the shear forces which typically occur when pedaling, and corrects the movement mechanism.

The carbon fibre material means that they have exceptionally good stiffening capabilities and are able to absorb the torsional forces created during the push and pull phase of cycling without any problems. These orthotics slacken then return to their original shape, making them the perfect material for cycling.

Specialised Running Racing Flat Orthotics

Running Flat shoes and even training spikes require the shoe to be lighter and sometimes shallower. Compared to a high mileage sneaker, these shoes are somewhat compromised. In the past, orthotics have struggled to fit into these shoes and add weight.

At Adelaide Heel Pain Clinics our in-house orthotic milling machine has German-made carbon fibre plate as an undercarriage with a thin customised orthotic over the top to solve the issue of fitting it inside the football boot. Their carbon fibre material means that they have exceptionally good stiffening capabilities and are able to absorb the forces created during running (9-10 times your own body weight) without any problems. These orthotics slacken then return to their original shape, making them the perfect material for racing flats.
